چکیده

In this paper, we consider the minimal entropy of two-qubit states transmitted through two uses of a noisy quantum channel, which is modeled by the action of a completely positive trace-preserving (or stochastic) map. We provide strong support for the conjecture that this minimal entropy is additive, namely that the minimum entropy can be achieved when product states are transmitted. Explicitly, we prove that for tensor products of unital stochastic maps, using an entanglement that involves only states which emerge with minimal entropy cannot decrease the entropy below the minimum achievable using product states. We give a separate argument, based on the geometry of the image of the set of density matrices under stochastic maps, which suggests that the minimal entropy conjecture holds for nonunital as well as for unital maps. We also show that the maximal norm of the output states is multiplicative for most product maps, including all those for which at least one map is unital. Lemma about Additivity and Some Variation of the Depolarising Channel

In this paper, we introduce two results. First we prove Lemma about the additivity and the multiplicativity. This Lemma states that for a unitary covariant channel Ψ and a channel M such that M(ρ0) is of rank one for some state ρ0 ∈ S(H) the additivity of the minimal output entropy of Ψ implies that of Ψ ◦ M , and the multiplicativity of the maximal output p-norm of Ψ, that of Ψ ◦M . Next we co...

Some new additivity results on quantum channels

In this paper we introduce a lemma. This lemma states that for a unitary covariant channel Ψ and a channel M such that M(ρ0) is of rank one for some state ρ0 ∈ S(H) the additivity of the minimal output entropy of Ψ implies that of Ψ ◦M , and the multiplicativity of the maximal output p-norm of Ψ, that of Ψ ◦M . For the product channel of the depolarising channel and an arbitrary channel the add...

The entropy gain of infinite-dimensional quantum channels

In the present paper we study the entropy gain H(Φ[ρ]) − H(ρ) for infinite-dimensional channels Φ. We show that unlike finite-dimensional case where the minimal entropy gain is always nonpositive [1], there is a plenty of channels with positive minimal entropy gain. We obtain the new lower bound and compute the minimal entropy gain for a broad class of Bosonic Gaussian channels by proving that ...

6 Transition behavior in the capacity of correlated - noisy channels in arbitrary dimensions

We construct a class of quantum channels in arbitrary dimensions for which entanglement improves the performance of the channel. The channels have correlated noise and when the level of correlation passes a critical value we see a sharp transition in the optimal input states (states which minimize the output entropy) from separable to maximally entangled states. We show that for a subclass of c...
